After testing in Cocoa, even unexpected keys such as tab can be used when a text field isn't selected. Some keys such as the arrow keys and escape act like key equivalents even with a text field active.

Added support for punctuation based key equivalents such as Cmd-' or Cmd-;. Fixed: [event characters] would contain Þ when Cmd-' was pressed and º for Cmd-; since the key codes for punctuation do not match the ASCII codes and String.fromCharCode does not work. Manual test included.
