Just booked a flight back from South America to Europe, in time to make it to the XMPP sprint.
I would still propose to have proper hack days with as many people as possible sometime in summer. The Sambuca house won't run away. In fact, the later in the year, the better it will be. :)
Oh, nice! Can't say I hate that there's more activity all around the XMPP space these days. 🎉
That sucks, because you just opened a PR for the latest release, meaning the next one will take 6 months from now. :/
There's not really anything to review in here. If there's absolutely no functional change in a PR, you can merge yourself without review.
We do not have to write an email for people who didn't have Gitea accounts yet. I think that email should be a single one to all users, when we have a page explaining their unified account and which services they have access to. (They should also know about the wiki for example.)
BTW, I think the task list is out of date, from reading your comments from today...
By default the users created from LDAP can create Gitea organizations
We need to turn that off, because we agreed that org creation requires a separate donation (or proof of Kosmos contributions).
There's already talk from participants of the XMPP event cancelling their travels due to COVID19 concerns. I'm honestly also not sure myself if it's a good idea to travel to airports and train stations in a place like Berlin at that time, considering the development in recent weeks and days.
Seeing as some of us already don't have time, how about we eye something in June on Sicily (Hacker House) for the first 2019 hack days? Sambuca should be pretty safe, and there are cheap non-stop flights from many places during the summer season.
So why are they a "Person" in the first place? They're not people, so shouldn't they be something else?
Are we going to have issues like this for every software we're running? If not, isn't it a bit superfluous?
This change is not explained in the commit messages. The package is removed, but I don't see a replacement.
